Pool Deck Installation in Potomac, MD
Do you have an outdated pool surrounded by old, cracked cement? If so, it’s time for an upgrade! A new pool deck and simple pool refurbishing can completely transform your yard. The Wesson family of Potomac, Maryland wanted to refurbish their 1980s pool that was old and dilapidated. The project consisted of:
- Removing the existing concrete pool deck
- Installing new tile and coping on the pool
- Replacing the pool skimmer
- Installing new plaster in the pool
Pool Deck & Refurbishing Project Details
We replaced the brick retaining wall with Ramone Brown rubble stone and installed a thermal Pennsylvania flagstone (bluestone) pool deck (the thermal process removes the natural cleft the stone naturally has, resulting in a smooth surface). We created a bench in the rubble stone retaining wall and capped it with 2-inch thick thermal bluestone.
Approximately 12 tons of rubble stone were used and 40 cubic yards of concrete were installed. We completed the project in four weeks—a short period of time for the amount of work. The Wesson family was left with a newly refurbished pool that not only increased the value of their Potomac home but allowed them to better enjoy their yard in the summer!
